DHAMIAN BLUE TO MODERATE PANEL DISCUSSION ON SOCIAL JUSTICE WITHIN PRISON WALLS
On Monday, November 1, 2010, Dhamian Blue will moderate a panel discussion, titled “Social Justice Within Prison Walls,” during the UNC Center for Civil Rights’ two-day conference, “The Unfinished Work: Advancing New Strategies in the Struggle for Civil Rights.” Conference conveners, comprising several public interest law firms and organizations, organized the event in honor of the nationally-prominent civil rights attorney Julius L. Chambers. Mr. Chambers is the current director of the Center for Civil Rights, former Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, former chancellor of North Carolina Central University, and a founding partner of the Charlotte law firm FergusonStein Chambers Gresham & Sumter, P.A.
Mr. Blue will lead a panel that highlights the work of attorneys from the ACLU New York, North Carolina Center on Actual Innocence, National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Criminal Justice Project.
