Blue Stephens & Fellers LLP is a small law firm, founded in 1976, with a big reputation for exceptional client service and highly skilled professionals. Located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, we serve as trusted advisors to individuals, businesses and charitable organizations across North Carolina and the country on a range of legal matters that require counseling, advice, advocacy and effective representation. Since our firm's inception, we have embraced our civic roles as lawyers by serving in government, on the boards of colleges, universities, churches and non-profits, and by undertaking pro bono work to improve our community. 1976 — The firm is founded as Thigpen Blue & Stephens by attorneys Cressie H. Thigpen, Daniel T. Blue, Jr. and Ralph L. Stephens.

1984 — The firm adds Carlton E. Fellers as a partner.

1984 — The firm moved from its Hargett Street address over Hamlin Drugs to its current location on Fayetteville Street.

1987 — Attorney Fellers is appointed by then Governor Jim Martin as a Special Superior Court Judge. As required by the NC State Bar, the firm drops Fellers from its name.

1993 — Attorney Fellers returns to the firm and is added back to the firm name.

1997 — Reverend Stephens passes away after a brief illness.

2008 — Attorney Thigpen is appointed by then Governor Mike Easley as a Special Superior Court Judge. As required by the NC State Bar, the firm drops Thigpen from its name and is now known as "Blue Stephens Fellers"
